NETWORK RAIL VEGETATION WORKS ALONG STATION ROAD TO REMOVE TREES WITH ASH DIE BACK. Monday, 26th October to Friday, 30th October 2026

Dear Villagers

The following email has been sent by Network Rail to households in Station Road and Craig Close.

Vegetation Works- Removal of DDD Trees with Ash Die Back

I am writing to advise that Network Rail and its Contractor will carrying out critical vegetation works on Network Rail land adjacent to your property. The planned work involves the safe removal of several ash trees along the border of Station Road, Crowhurst. We have-chosen to carry out these works during the October half term to lessen disruption to residents in liaison with the Parish Council.

Works will be undertaken during October half term between Monday 26th October to Friday 30th October 2026 from 08:00 to 16:00hrs.

The work should take a week to complete. We have added a contingency window in terms of the timescales should we encounter any unforeseen problems. As the trees are diseased and cannot be climbed. we will require the use of a MEWP. Therefore, access along the road will be restricted during these times to ensure the safety of all parties. All the necessary ecological checks will also be carried out by our Vegetation Contractor prior to the commencement of the works.

I appreciate our work will be disruptive during this time, but unless we carry out the removal of these trees, there’s a potential risk of them failing and causing harm and/or damage to property

We appreciate your ongoing cooperation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated 24-hour National Helpline at 03457 11 41 41. Please quote reference: MPC/RG/TTH 57 Mile 47 Chain.
